Medina Book Fest offers a part-day writing conference as well as a local author fair. This event brings together writers of all experience levels from beginners to published authors. Attendees can gain insights from industry experts on everything from the craft and business of writing to the ins and outs of self-publishing and more. Books from local authors will be available for purchase in the Author Alley.

From Page to Screen: How a Local Author Brought her Novel to Life with a Cinematic Book Trailer

Join local author Amanda Uhl and filmmaker Chris Esch for a behind-the-scenes look at how her novel was brought to life through a cinematic book trailer filmed on location in Cleveland. The pair will share how the idea developed, how real actors, a local cafe, camera equipment, story planning, and creative marketing came together to create something more like a mini-movie than a traditional book trailer. The program will include a screening of the trailer, behind-the-scenes photos and video, stories from the filming process, and a discussion of how authors can connect with readers in fresh and visual ways. Readers, writers, book clubs, film lovers, and anyone interested in local creative projects are welcome.
